Research Associate

Harriet Kabanyoro is a Research Associate at OapAI Lab, the research arm of OapAI Technologies Limited. An economist and researcher, she is pursuing a Master of Science in Quantitative Economics at Makerere University, where she also completed her bachelor’s degree. She currently serves as a Graduate Intern-Researcher at the Economic Policy Research Centre (EPRC), supporting quantitative and qualitative research, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and report writing.

At OapAI Lab, Harriet brings a policy-research lens to applied AI and machine learning work, helping ensure that projects like ClinAssist are grounded in rigorous evidence and genuinely address local community needs, not just technical benchmarks. Her research interests span labour markets, trade and regional integration, gender equality, food security, climate resilience, and evidence-based policymaking, all areas where responsible AI adoption has real stakes.

She is proficient in Stata, SPSS, Excel, KoboToolbox, and ODK, and is passionate about using economic research to address Uganda’s development challenges, a mission closely aligned with OapAI’s own.
